Out_of_the_Cold

Become a Volunteer!

Thank you for your interest in St. Patrick's Out of the Cold program.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the loss of funding from the City of Toronto for floor security, we will not be serving dinner and providing accommodations to our guests at St. Patrick’s for the 2021-22 season. However, to help as many homeless guests and people facing food insecurity as possible, we will be preparing meals at St. Patrick’s which will then be served by two agencies (Good Shepherd Ministries on Queen St. and St. Felix on Augusta) at their locations by local staff.

As we will be needing fewer people to run the program, there are limited opportunities for volunteers in the upcoming season. A few volunteers will be recruited each week to help the cooking team prepare the meals, clean up the kitchen area, or sort out donations (clothes, toiletries, etc.). To keep our volunteers safe, we will be using the kitchen and the entire parish hall to help maintain social distancing, while following the provincial and Toronto Public Health guidelines on food handling during the pandemic.
