"Desiderio Desideravi" Apostolic Letter

"I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer (Luke 22:15)..."

These words of Jesus begin Pope Francis’ Apostolic Letter, Desiderio Desideravi. Pope Francis urges us to come to a deeper participation in, and understanding of the liturgy of the Eucharist in order that it, might transform every dimension of our lives and conform us more closely to Christ. Following our brief introduction of this Letter in Advent, the Liturgy Committee would like to respond to Pope Francis’ invitation and offer an evening of discussion and reflection on this most important liturgy wherein Jesus invites us to eat his body and to drink his blood in order to become one with him. Thus, by increasing our understanding we may have full, conscious and active participation in the liturgy.
